Our First Communicants
The Live Christ Share Christ (LCSC) is our response to the call to New Evangelization. It is the goal of LCSC to bring nominal Catholics back to active involvement in the Church, and to start to deepen the faith of everyone in the parish. The entry point is a Life in Christ Retreat/Seminar (LCS) which helps bring Catholics to transformation in Christ, with a continuing personal relationship with Jesus as Savior and Lord.
We invite our fellow parishioners to join us as we rekindle the fire of the holy Spirit in us. Experience the joy of meeting, living, and sharing Christ. Come and see... be part of something great!
Be the Attitude
As we return to Ordinary Time in cycle A, we will begin to follow the Sermon on the Mount. For the 4 weeks from January 15 - February 5 our parish message will focus on the Christian Attitude every parishioner should have.
For the weekend of January 14-15, the Christian attitude will be from the Baptismal call to be Light in a world of darkness. At every Baptism, a candle is lighted and the flame should be "kept burning brightly" through the life of the new Chrsitian. This brightness is sustained through the Gift of the Holy Spirit.
On the weekend of January 21-22, the Christian attitude will be the need all have to repent from works of darkness and reflect the Light of Christ. In the first words spoken by Jesus, we are told we must repent of our sins in order to be the Kingdom People He empowers. This means all should have an active aspect in their Faith Life.
On the weekend of January 28-29, the Christian attitude will draw from the Beatitudes, which remind us that being a Christian means one must be vulnerable. One of the key aspects of the Christian attitude is that of Trust, but Trust means one is vulnerable. In each of the Beatitudes Jesus presnets, we see how the vulneable are vindicated.
On the final weekend of February 4-5, Jesus affirms that we must all be Salt and Light. To be such, our lives should be spent in service of the Gospel, lives that are free from the works of darkness. Those who are Light and Salt do the works of Christ because they are right to do. Each person should become more involved in the proclamation of the Gospel so as to let that Light shine!
